A natural Yacht Varnish
This glossy clear varnish can be
utilized as floor , furniture and yacht varnish. It has a good coverage quality, produces
a glossy finish, is water resistant, non-abrasive and very fast due to its high
elasticity. After drying it has an anti-static effect and creates a non-toxic surface..
With this oil varnish no water is polluted neither when produced nor when applied as yacht
varnish.
Ingredients: Wood /oil stand oil -copal
cooking, best linseed oil standoil, castor oil standoil, orange peel turpentine and a
blend of the dry substances calcium, cobalt and zirconium.
Application instructions: apply three
coats of the varnish on perfectly prepared surface with brush or roller. Drying time 24
hours for each coat at 18-20°C and normal humidity. Possibly up coming wood fibres
require sanding between the coats. For cork floors and highly absorbent wood apply a
generous coat or even extra coat. Hardwoods like oak and beech and stone floors should be
pre-treated with diluted turpentine oil (up to 30%).
Coverage: Per coat approx. 1.0
l/10m²
The distinction between exterior and interior
varnish depends on their higher or lower oil content. If the relation oil:resin is 3:1 and
higher the oil varnish will be a `fat' one, 1-fatty varnishes and below are lean oil
varnishes. Generally weather fastness improves with increasing oil content while water
resistance impairs. Therefore when applied as yacht varnish its fat content is increased
with fatty oil (1:1 with linseed oil/wood oil Exterior Wood Glaze )for the first coat and
reduced with each subsequent coat
If the yacht varnish is to be rather water
resistant than weatherproof the oil varnish is applied like floor varnish. It is then not
blended with fatty oil in any coat and the wood is not primed with oil either but the Oil
Varnish is applied as described above.
Matt finish for Floor Oil Varnish
Up to 20% matt agent carefully blended in Oil
Varnish produces satin glossy varnish coats in the interior area. It should, however, be
considered that a matt surface is more prone to soiling. Sanding as an alternative on the
other hand would reduce its coverage quality. A matt effect should only be given to the
last sparing coat whereas the first coats will be glossy.
Ingredients: wood oil standoil-copal
cooking, linseed oil standoil, castor standoil, citrus turpentine oil, calcium sikkative,
silicic acid and microwax.
